The Surrendered Wife I actually bought the book and keep it out to remind me not to be so b!tchy to my husband because he works so hard and deals with so much. I have NOT managed to read the whole thing because I get to laughing so hard but it is a bonding point and a great inside joke between my husband and me. Now that I've been reminded of it I'm going to try and read it again.

I'm not quite sure how those books are supposed to work for a military family. Can you imagine saying, "Okay dear, from now on you make all decisions. Sexual to financial (like the quote says). I'll do whatever you say." Then he deploys. And the house floods, the kids need braces, the dog eats the cat, and the car breaks down completely. But you can't do anything. He makes all decisions. You can't decide which plumber to go with, whether the braces need to go on now or wait a few months, should the dog go to the vet or far away, and do you get the car fixed or replaced? You have to wait until he gets free time to call you and then you get to lay everything on him at once. Yeah, I can see that helping a marriage.

Yeah, it would have to be tweaked for the military family. I was thinking about just that same thing last night. "oh, sweetie, did you get the electric bill email? They turned our lights off again" "Well, can't you pay it?" "But you're our strong man and provider. I just don't know what to do without you!" Yeah, not flying with my sweetie. But when he first came home and we were moving and everything he did was wrong because I was so used to doing everything myself, it helped me not to drive him insane.

see this isnt so much a problem for me bc since weve been married I am the one whos pretty much dealt with everything heehee so hes used to me telling him when he needs to go fix the car or help with something, but I am the one who deals with the money. I like it that way and so does he :)
