Okay, so I'm in TN right now, but my mom called me a couple hours ago. "What's going on? Everyone in town is freaking out and all the gas stations are packed." "How should I know?" "Well, put on CNN and tell me what's going on." So I watch for about 20 minutes and I finall figure it out and call her back. Gas went from $3.49 to $3.79 and just 30 minutes away it's $5.05. All that downward progress *sigh* POOF  

Well Freak me! It went up from $3.55 yesterday to $3.69 today. Not as bad but I think the hurricane effects might trickle our way. 

better fill up TONIGHT! my husband called me while i was at work at told me to on my way home cuz it's supposed to go up 1.60... =( 

I don't even know if we'll wind up with any rain or anything from it but the people in this particular area panic over EVERY storm, it doesn't matter where it is for the most part. My Dad said in Huntsville(AL)went from $3.69 to $4.75 during their lunch hour. I will apparently NOT be looking at apartments next week. -_-# 

Its $3.55 at the HEB in Harker Heights. Its been crowded all day! But its worth it. 

Just to let yall know that weat fort hood the gas station over here by Montague is out of unleaded. Everywhere is packeed. My mom said that it is now 5.00 a gallon in North carilona. 

My dad told me that crude oil closed out at a record low today too. $101 and change for a barrel, it's the lowest it's been in like 6 months, and yet here we are with this BS. Price gouging at it's finest. 

i'm sitting here looking out my window at the 7-11 on fort hood road. unleaded is 3.69 and it's not packed...only 2 cars getting gas. if you need it, and the other places are sold out,you might want to try there. 

You are so right aleese. I hate this Sh**. Know we are going to being paying high prices for gas maybe the next few months. I am so pissed, it makes me want to stay home even more. 

Hey just to let yall know again that the news said that Ike is now up to 110 mph winds almost a cat 3 . It is moveing about 13 mph It has picked up speed. 

They say price gauging is illegal. Going from 3.60 to 5.00 in 30 minutes is price gauging. 

Alot of gas stations on post are out of gas, some still have mid-grade and premium. I had to pay 2.75 to fill mine up. They told my husband its going up 1.82 over the weekend. 

That's B.S! That's the same thing that happened during 9/11. We should be fine here. And if we are in a flood or bad storm we are not going to want to drive anywhere!!!! They didn't even evacuate all of Houston, so I certainly think we are better off than those close to the coast! 

All of those gas stations are gonna get in bigg @$$ trouble for doing that. they are ONLY allowed to change price 1x a day and thats price gouging again 

the reason the gas went up is cause some of the gas things are gonn get hit or are being hit by the storm... it was on the news.... 

Hey you guys know that the gas stations that ran out of gas aren't getting any till sunday or during the week...I drove around Cove just to get some gas..better safe than sorry! 

My mom called me and told me in NC it went up a whole dollar. So now its 4.50 there. Shes like WTF! And Im trying to book fights and it looks like passengers are getting reamed because of the freaking Gas crisis. Such total BS. 

yeah we filled up at 7-11 when i first read this... lol. and they wont get in trouble for raising the prices because the oil is actually in DANGER of getting washed away in the storm... or getting RUINED. 

no. when we were in houston with rita if the gas stations raised the prices more than 1x a day and were found out they were fined. they buy the gas at a certain price, add the tax and profits etc and thats what they charge per gallon. your supposed to report price gouging to the proper authorities and they will stop it. price gouging is price gouging. 

they have closed 13% of the refineries in houston, and lots of the rigs out in the gulf. anytime something like this threatens the production of gas, it's gonna go up. my advice is to fill up now. that way you will have a full tank,and get the cheaper price. 

I payed $3.55 at the gas pumps near walmart in cove tis morning. I went back to put gas in my other car about 7pm tonight and it was $3.69. Already 14 cents up and not even a day. I don't plan on going anywhere but i wanted to get gas just incase it went up even more. 

Man, the sad thing is that is was just going down the last few weeks!!! :( 

In michigan it jsut went up to $6.00

ok so poeple don't forget to charge your cell phones. I am always forgetting to charge my cell phone and just thought of it because my phone has been sitting on my desk dead allday. 

and laptops. 

And gameboys and ds's for the kids LOL. They have to have something to keep the from getting in our hair. 

and psp's for husbands lol. 

Yeah you got that right. Minew is going to drive me nuts.My hubby got a text from his sgt that said keep your phone on and charged. We still arent sure what that about.
