i'd like to make a website for a photography gallary... my friend sent me a link for flashpalette web design... anyone by chance used this before? it looks easy enough...but idk. i don't wanna pay for it and be like... duuuh... and waste it.  

hey bbj, I looked it up online...didn't spend a lot of time there but it looks like they're just templates for xml galleries. You can get some free ones from entheos (www.entheosweb.com) but they also sell some that are around $30. Basically you're just naming and putting the pics you want in the gallery in a folder and inputing the file names into the xml script. When you're done then all you have to do is upload it to your web hosting site. Flash is super complicated if you're not familiar with actionscript so I'm not sure if this is a software how they get around that unless it writes script for you like an html editor writes well html lol.

I learned to write HTML from a website a long time ago. It's a little intensive, but has totally paid off in several ways. Wouldn't hurt to check it out http://www.htmlcookies.com/ 

I use adobe DreamWeaver, its great and really user friendly!
