i hate san antonio for the traffic. lol. i dread getting there coming back to fort hood from the valley. lol. i take a highway depends when i hit san anto to avoid major traffic but i go thru towns so that means traffic lites. but when i head back from the valley its usually late so i dont hav problems. but i normally catch traffic headin south so from austin to san anto i take highways. but nxt trip down am takin 281 to san anto and find a way around once i get closer to there but also depends what day an time i leave of course. 

when i come back from victoria i take the 130 toll through Austin ! i saw a sign for San Antonio on the 130 that might make it less traffic not sure..... i pay 6 bucks from the time i get on til i get to the lockhart exit 

yea iv takin the tolls an iv gone thru 183 which i get off on 1 an gone the back side of austin which is beautiful i believe thats where the trail place is aint stopped there but plannin on goin when the hubby gets here. i lik tryin different routes but there is nice stops on 281 to san anto i want to make and then i believe it is 130 or 145 not sure which highway that takes u thru the town with all the bbq places just one of the routes iv gone thru lol 

marble falls is really pretty on the san antonio route, the back way through lampasas 

is there like a lake or something there. i didnt really get to take my time was headin to a weddin in san anto so needed to make sure i got there in time to get dressed lol 

I am from Houston and I will take the Dallas/Austin or San Antonio traffic any day over Houston. That is by far the worst traffic in this state!

That is by far the worst traffic in this state! we lived out in the dfw area when we first meet and it was horrible. my uncle hated it more than houston cuz it would come to complete stop he would say houston was a slow pace but u wouldnt sit in ur car. but then again this was back in 99 also so i dont knw bout now. yes it is , we only drove through it as well we were headed to sea world ! but the scenery was so pretty . it was i want to go to the cavern back there iv gone to the sonora one. i so we mite make a day trip to do that and the exotic thing in johnson city which not to far apart frm there it could b an hr away am not sure but an hr to me is close enuff lol. it is after tx lol everthing is in hrs lol. but take the back way round austin if u ever go to lik the outlets in san marcos thru 183 an 1 u come out in i believe kirby cute lil town. lik ole time feelin. aint had time to just enjoy the drives just always goin somewhere. am a big driver love it. lol

We always go through 281 to San Antonio. More lights for sure but plenty of potty break places for my kids lol!! We want to go to that exotic farm too!
