I am shocked to hear that people don't know what this is, so here's me sharing some valuable information :)

Army Family Covenant: Keeping the Promise

In the words of our Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Army, "Never before in the history of our Army have we asked so much of our Families. They are serving side-by-side with our Soldiers, enduring their hardships and providing the unconditional love and support that truly make our Army strong. The Army Family Covenant pledges our commitment to support Soldiers and their Families and resource programs to provide them a quality of life commensurate with their service."

Read more about it and download the actual brochure to read all that the Army is promising to do for soldiers and families here.

See thats why you were my question buddy. Im glad they are doing this. The house we live in at Wood was built in 47. It still has the original windows in this bad boy. They have started to gut the houses here as people move out. Which is great because they really need it

Continuation...

So what makes the Army Family Covenant change from year to year? Here's the answer!

Army Family Action Plan, a process for improving quality of life.

The AFAP is the Army's grassroots effort in which members of the Army Community (Soldiers, civilians, families and retirees) identify and elevate significant quality of life issues affecting the Army community to senior leaders for action. The AFAP is also a key component of the Army Family Covenant because it gives commanders and other Army leader's insight into needs and expectations of the Army community.
