So I dyed my hair Auburn about 6 months ago and I have tried repeatedly to dye it blond. Well needless to say it is still brownish red and the roots are now blonde. Anyone else have this issue and how did you fix it

I had this problem a while back and it seemed like no matter what I did I never got a good solid color, it came out spotty and there were patches that didn't take. I broke down and used a bleaching/stripping kit and totally took all color out of my hair and then i dyed it again and it took perfect. It all but fried my hair though, i wouldn't really recommend it but it worked as a last resort.

Since then I haven't dyed my hair again. And I am finally back to my natural color! Finally... it took at least 2 years.

Ya I have had to go to a salon once to have my hair stripped before but I have never done it myself. I am thinking since its not terribly noticeable that i have blonde (looks like the top is sunbleached and the bottom is a like a very dark blonde with red tint to it now, from what my neighbor told me. I am wondering if i just highlight it i can make it less noticeable. I would like to avoid stripping but short of chopping my hair up to my roots im not sure what to do. Maybe i can find a salon to take care of it

Going from dark to light is very hard especially blonde. I had my hair dyed this darrk red once and tried to get it to go back to my natural light brown color and it wouldn't take. We had to bleach and strip it. Then my natural color took. It fried my hair but I just kept using strong moisturizers and it finally softened up.
