Facial beauty in 0-2 y.o.'s? That's just creepy, I'm sorry.
I don't get child beauty pageants

Tiffany I am with you all the way. I know it is really a different world. I was not very into it when I was in them, but when I saw what it was doing for my daughter and how good she started to feel about herself then I saw the change in me and really started to get into it and now I run my own pageants. I agee that some are strange and negative, but most if run correctly are very positive in a childs life. P.s. the facial beauty that you would find in a two year old would be emotion....how they bring it to life, a maile a laugh a serious look...capturing that glow of that child. It is not much different as if you were to take a picture of your own child and notice the glow from happiness from inside! Look more into pageants you may find that you actually like them!

I got to say that i am pretty against them myself. I can't imagine my son or daughter (who are under two) going through this. I want my children to look past physical beauty for as long as possible before society teaches them it is "important." Having a contest that strictly is focused on physical beauty is sending the wrong message to children. Who is to judge what is beautiful and what is not, especially those of a child! If I have one hope for my daughter, I would hope she feels beautiful whether some tells her she is or not; that she builds confidence from her actions not someone telling her she is beautiful.

Someonesangel I toadly understand where you are comming from, being a mom I am very against the idea that someone would only judge my daughters based on beauty alone, but it does go so much deeper than that. It is the art of performance and confidance. A dancer gets certian parts in a dance based on style, practice, look of the needed part and so on, well so does the pageant winner. Please dont judge pageants based on what is shown on TV because the TV has you fooled. Also there are beauty pageants that have nothing at all to do with outer beauty but achievements and presentations, it is all in what the pageant is based aroud. I did beauty pageants all my life. I went on to be a very sucessful adult because of the confidance I gained form them. I am not in any way shape or form telling you that you should put your kids in them at all! Please though look into the art of it ....that is all I am asking. I will admit that there are parents that are crazy! I had a mom that was one of those, but that is not the art of pageantry that is a parent living through their child. That is found in many different forms! Your hope is shared by many, and for some the idea of a crown is a goal based on improvement through stats just as a game of basketball and footbal. Many contestants have recieved full scholarships to school just as many high school sports stars! Love your children the bast way you know how and they will love them selves!!!!
