I am an O1 with a wife who is also an O1 and we will be PCS'ing to Hood shortly. We are looking for advice on both on and off post housing. Pretty much anything you've got, please go ahead and throw at us as long as it may be helpful.

2 Officers may do very well with on-post housing. Off-post is great too with many more options. BAH isn't too bad for what is available. Killeen has a bad rap and has it's good and bad locations- but don't rule it out, especially depending on your units. The drive can be quite long if you live on the opposite end of post from where you work. We liked Copperas Cove best, but settled on post. Good luck with everything! 

I have been here since 2008. I would advise you to live off post. Harker Heights is nice. Look on Craigslist and you can get some idea of rentals. If you want more info, send me a message and I will get you what you need.
