Joe: no dont worry if you aint sent it then it still good though you send it with iraq on the box like i told ytou not to put iraq anywhere on stuff you send me Caitlin: what do u mean? im not understanding Joe: yeah i know an it upsetting Caitlin: i really have no idea whats going on, did you get in trouble or something? i was given an address and im following whats on it, now its not MY fault they put iraq on there, if i wasnt supposed to, then im sorry. but can someone please correct me when they give out the addresses on deployment day!? because it says iraq on there... idk what i did wrong, can someone please explain to me why this is such an issue, im following the directions i was given...

The address they gave us was not good. They changed it like three times. Is he in Iraq?

~*Crystal*~ --- 16 years ago -

The country isn't in a military mailing address tehy use codes such as.... APO AE followed by the zip code

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

This is how it should look

2010 --- 16 years ago -

This is an example of what an address looks like Aco 115th BSB, 1BCT, 1 CD UNIT# 6067 Camp Taji, Iraq APO AE 09378

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

Aco 115th BSB, 1BCT, 1 CD UNIT# 6067 Camp Taji, Iraq APO AE 09378 Just take out Iraq and you'll be good

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

Aco 115th BSB, 1BCT, 1 CD UNIT# 6067 Camp Taji, APO AE 09378 As simple as this

2010 --- 16 years ago -

They told us to keep the Iraq in the address

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

I don't know if tehy told you but they also advise that you don't put the soldiers rank. Example. Put John Smith instead of SSG John Smith

2010 --- 16 years ago -

They als said it was ok to put rank..lol Guess it just depends?

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

They told us to keep the Iraq in the address Don't. The APO AE already tells them what country

2010 --- 16 years ago -

Oh well...I will follow what they told us to do.

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

As far as the post office is concerned you aren't shipping to Iraq. You're shipping to a domestic territory

2010 --- 16 years ago -

ok..

Kerrizzledub --- 16 years ago -

they told us to put there rank but not to include iraq

Mrs.Shutes --- 16 years ago -

I always put his rank when i mailed my husband things.

JMunderscore --- 16 years ago -

The rank thing might just be my husband's unit but teh rest of the information applies to everyone

Sherri --- 16 years ago -

Every unit has a diffrent SOP. One unit could require one thing and another unit something else. As long as u have the apo, ae and zip u should be good

just stayc --- 16 years ago -

I have never put Iraq on any of the packages , and this is the 3rd deployment, like someone else said maybe it's a different protocol for everyone !

HILLBILLY --- 16 years ago -

Yeah last time we didn't put Iraq, this time we do....i have always put his rank. Each unit does it different. There is no perfect set way to do anything in the military.

LO caity VE --- 16 years ago -

im soooo confused....lol

Sherri --- 16 years ago -

Be safe, put his name rank, heck put Iraq if it makes u feel better. As long as u have the correct APO, AE and zip u should have no problems. This is also deployment 3 for him and each time has been diffrent. This time they actually have me putting the FOB he is at on the package/letter. If all else fails, call his rear d.

hhahaha TEACH MEEE TEACH MEEE! anyone have yahoo so we can talk, im bored. caitsmith88

KellyP --- 16 years ago -

First of all, please tell me these are totally fake and made up mailing addresses on here!!!!! Second, the Country ALWAYS goes on the Customs form no matter what. Everything else is up to the unit and the mail clerks they deal with in route to them. USUALLY it's just a name, a unit, and an APO, AE +zip code. Is he a good typer? Sounds to me like he was getting frustrated but couldn't type out all of what he was really upset about.

I have never wrote Iraq on anything...
