so my husband was just told he is being stationed in fort drum Ny... can anyone tell me anything about it, especially the housing on post? 

I have two friends that re-enlisted to go there. I believe that there is quite a wait for housing though. I know that they both lived off post for about a year before getting on post. Good luck!

That was one of the stations offered to my hubs. He declined tho bc he's had his lungs freeze once during pt and doesn't want to have it happen again. Apparently some of the units there have a habit of running no matter how cold it is. 

Now Fort Bliss doesn't sound so bad. lol ;)

Yeah Jamie this explains it all $1248 BAH for our rank, i just went to Watertown craigslist and found a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath 2 story house in decent condition for $950. Sounds about right compared to here with my BAH...

AT BLISS WE ARE GETTING SCREWED!!! I'd rather go to NY at this point... But :/ on the freezing lung thing... 

$200-300 left over for utilities is what the ARMY SHOULD be doing for us at Bliss!!
