Stay away from JWC. I had so much trouble through them I turned down my dream rental and went through someone else. They would not let anyone look at the house for me (I even made a POA), and when I came, they told me I could not use the POA I had from my husband to get the house. I had to physically have my own income. Rusty Eagle was the best company we went through. Craiglist is the best place to start... you can see the realty company from the page, and then go to the realty page where it will have pictures and prices online for you to look at.

This is my property managers listings. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her. Even tho she technically works for the owner of the property, she takes way good care of me. She's totally on top of everything and so easy to get a long with. If I were to move somewhere else in the same area, I would only rent from her. I'm a landlord myself so I know how much it can suck from the other side too. Anyhow, her name is Karen, and below is a link to what rentals she has listed right now. If none of them work for you, call her still, she usually has others that aren't listed or ones that will be opening up soon.

TX Property Shop, LLC

Good luck!

not JWC

I just saw a friend off this morning who rented from JWC. They were over there doing the walk through when I got there and they were nickel and diming everything. Trying to charge them for damage to the property that was there prior to them moving in. Things that were reported to them and was right there in their face on the paperwork. Like they were just hoping that no one would notice. And then told them they were going to charge them to reseed the lawn. Ummm hello, no one has a green lawn around here. We've hardly had any rain plus the type of grass used for lawns here in Texas will pick up and grow right back, no need for seed. All you have to do with this grass is take the clippings, sprinkle them over a bare spot and those clippings will root and fill it in.

Seriously ridiculous....

My husbands place is through Cloud Realty, they are ok, but his place was broken into back in June and they tried to charge him for the door and told him to claim it on his renter insurance, ummmm no.... that's legally there responsibility. Just have to make sure they don't pull anything on you. And as of this morning his place was robbed again, I highly recommend renters insurance.

I have a friend who rents from JWC and his house was broken into. They made him pay to replace the window. I talked to my property manager about this and also about AC units getting stolen. I was told that was the tenants responsibility and that is why I should have renters insurance. I called my insurance company and they told me that renters insurance doesn't cover that. That it is attached to the house, therefore repairing or replacing those things are the burden of the owner. I knew the answer to this already since I am a landlord myself. The rental insurance I carry on my property covers such things. Anything pretty much attached to the home. As for the things in the home, the tenants property/belongings are their responsibility.

LOL ramble over... Maybe :p.... I still love my property manager, and after her and I had that conversation, she researched it and came to the conclusion that in such a case, the owner of the property and/or their insurance should cover it.
