Can you tell me what your average electric bill comes out to. Also what kind of internet providers do you use and what's the average you pay? We will be moving to Killeen next month and I'm trying to figure out what our monthly expenses will be. Thanks. 

Our electric is through TXU and ranges from about $160 to $200 a month. We had a hard time getting our internet set up. We first tried Century Link, and they never showed. Then we tried Clear Wireless. The service didn't work in our home. We ended up getting internet through Time Warner and pay about $75 for internet and home phone. Let me know if you have other questions. 

I don't know if it has changed but be careful with the electric off post bc some of them "estimate" your bill and never come out to do an actual read. You can call and require them to do so however. 

Rain Depends on the electric company that you choose to use and the size of your house.
Whatever you do, don't go with Ambit energy. Your bills will be $300+ regardless.
We are currently using TXU and paying $150-250 depending on the season (our house is over 2000sq.feet and we have two air conditioners, so that's pretty low).
As far as Internet providers go, there aren't too many. Time Warner Cable is the cheapest and the most popular in the area. We only use the internet(don't watch tv), so our monthly bill is $65.

Just stay away from the area right off Rancere. It can be scary at times. I used to live off post and will be glad to give you advice on the area.

LoL All the parts of Killeen can be scary not just Rancier. Why do you put that out there like that Silver? Is it because the low-income people are from that area? Or is it because you feel more superior than they are? You just got to be polite when you go out & about. Dont be judgmental. 

It's not that I am trying to be judge mental but when I got here that is where all the really bad things were going on. I don't know if it's gotten better but as a mother of 4 it's not worth the chance. If I offended you I am sorry.

As you can see from the map, the majority of violent crime is committed in the neighborhoods off of Rancier ave. 

I am from Killeen grew up there since the 70s. Long time residence are not judgmental we speak truth. No need to sugar coat anything. Rancier stopping at South Ft Hood Road, WS Young and Veterans Memorial has a lot of issues. Rancier is pretty much the hood especially along College, Gilmer, and the numbered streets. Before I got my life together I use to be a gang member. That was 20 years ago. 

Not all parts of Killeen are scary just anything within a mile of Rancier. There are more nice areas in Killeen than bad ones.
