Ok, first up look to your right ------>
You should see:

set topic type as:
NEWS
CHAT SIGNUP

Lock Topic
Unlock Topic

Edit Topic

Delete Topic

Here's what happens when you click on the "set topic type buttons"...
-NEWS- puts any normal topic into the left hand column on the home page.
-CHAT- I believe takes a NEWS topic off the left column and keeps it in the regular area
-SIGNUP- Will turn it into a signup list post for some reason.

Lock Topic- will lock the topic so no one can post/comment on it anymore

Unlock Topic- will take off the locked status so people CAN post/comment on it again

Edit Topic- is where you can edit the words of the Topic Title. Mainly used when repeating characters are shifting the entire home page out of whack (example: ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

Delete Topic- is pretty self explainatory...it makes the entire topic go poof and anyone who clicks on it will see "Topic Deleted". All comments made within a deleted post (in the past-this may have changed now, I am not sure anymore) still show up on the profile page of anyone who made a comment in that topic. 

If someone wants to practice editing, you can edit the "ahhhhhhhh" in the post above to make it have breaks which will drop it smaller and not so wide on the page :) 

There isn't too much to cover on the "Mod" link page.

First off, read through the entire page and look at "What guidelines do the mods follow?" and remember these are your rules to follow and what is expected of each and every one of us ESPECIALLY the last sentence :)


DO NOT CLICK "REVOLT" lol

You can select a moderator from the drop down list and click "propose removal" and it will start a voting topic for all moderators only to vote on.
I think we have a really good set of mods here now and don't see this feature being used unless someone isn't participating or something happens with their account.

Moderator History:
This looks different to mods from what regular users see. Regular users only see a date and a general action taken. Mods can see who (for now until the vote is over), date, general action, and notes which are details of the action. Don't look at the far bottom of the page if you don't like nasty photos!!!!
The issue of whether to show moderator names next to the action at the bottom of that page seems to be rather odd...but the vote is already in process in the topic areas so please go there and vote!
I thought it would be good to have the names so that we could see who was doing what and accountability if something is questioned. Only mods can see the names of who did what. 

Under the prayer list link, you can delete prayers if they are bogus and inappropriate. 

After each and every posters name in a post you see -edit, -quote, and flag comment that you are used to seeing. You also now have -put 'em in the ice box (again for those who have been here a while). When you click the ice box thing you may not see any thing happen, if that's the case look at the very top of this page and you might see a windows message saying something about allowing scripts, you have to click something on that line and then click ice box again to proceed.
A box will then pop up with a text area- you have to put in a descriptive reason for placing the person in the ice box.
Problems I have had with icing someone in the past is it will only tell me "user already flagged" if any member has already flagged the comment. Good luck finding a fresh comment from that poster to ice from :)

The new features of the site now erase all posts for the last year (or variation) of the person you place in the ice box :( NOT COOL ADAM AND AUSTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The user stays in the ice box for 3 days. 

That really is about it to your new buttons. If something comes up that you don't know about or have questions...feel free to ask.

Remember I already completed that vote before you all were voted on...what they see now is what should be seen after the new vote is complete.

I think most of us only used our powers on EACH OTHER! As a way to learn exactly how to use everything and make sure there were no glitches. This whole thing is ridiculous and I hope it gets figured out soon.
